Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Odo Player Android application (com.odogrid.player), built by Dev Times and published by Odo Grid ("we", "us"), together with the Odo Player pages on odogrid.com. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, the simple remedy is to uninstall the app — it costs nothing and you owe us nothing.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

2

What Odo Player Is

Odo Player is a media player for Android. It plays video and audio files that are already on your device: your folders, your downloads, your SD card, your playlists. It offers subtitles, an equaliser, playback speed and gestures, a pop-up window, picture-in-picture, casting to a TV on your own network, and playback controls on your lock screen.

Odo Player is a player, not a content service. It ships with no films, no music, no channels and no catalogue, and it does not provide, host, sell or recommend media. Whatever you play, you supplied — and what you are allowed to play is your responsibility, as section 4 explains.

3

Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Odo Player on devices you own or control, for your own private use, in accordance with these Terms and with Google Play's terms. The app is licensed, not sold, and we remain the owner of the software.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, or make it available to others as a service;
  • modify, translate, reverse-engineer or decompile the app, except where the law expressly permits it;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice in the app;
  • use the app's name or logo in a way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.
4

Your Media and Your Responsibility

Every file Odo Player opens is a file you chose to open, from storage you control. You are responsible for what you play, for holding the rights to it, and for complying with the law where you live — including copyright law and any terms that apply to media you obtained from someone else.

Odo Player handles your files locally on your device. We never receive them, never see them, and have no ability to remove or moderate them. That also means we cannot help you recover a file you deleted, and we cannot tell you whether you are allowed to play something.

Keep your own copies. Odo Player edits and trims media you point it at, and a trim or export writes a new file. As with any tool that writes to storage, keep a backup of anything irreplaceable before editing it.

5

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Odo Player to:

  • play, share or distribute material you do not have the right to use;
  • break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • get around a technological protection measure, a paywall or a copy restriction;
  • interfere with a network you do not own or have permission to use — including casting, downloading or streaming over someone else's Wi-Fi;
  • distribute malware, or repackage the app's own files into something harmful to others.

We may discontinue distribution of the app or remove it from stores at any time if it is being misused, though because Odo Player has no accounts and no server, there is no way for us to suspend your copy.

6

Intellectual Property

The Odo Player name, its logo and its icon, its interface design, and the source and object code of the app are owned by the developer and publisher and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These Terms give you no ownership of any of it — only the licence described in section 3.

Third-party components used inside the app, including open-source media libraries, remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their own licences. Media files, subtitles, artwork and lyrics that you supply or download belong to their own rights holders and are not covered by these Terms.

7

Free of Charge — No Purchases, No Ads

Odo Player is free. There is no premium tier, no in-app purchase, no subscription, no account and no advertising. Every feature described on its page is included in the app you install, and that is not a trial that expires or a promise for a later version.

Because nothing is sold, there is nothing to refund and no billing relationship with us. If the app is ever distributed through Google Play, Google's own terms govern the download and any store features such as ratings or reviews; those are between you and Google.

We would rather the app stay free than change these Terms later to charge for what you already have. If a future version ever added a paid element, it would be a new, optional thing — never a paywall placed in front of a feature that already exists.

8

Third-Party Content and Services

Some features reach beyond the app, and each one is covered by someone else's terms as well as these:

  • Stream links you open — the site hosting the stream is responsible for it, for its availability and for its legality. We do not host, check or endorse it.
  • Subtitle searches — the search opens a third-party subtitle site in your browser (opensubtitles.org and opensubtitles.com, podnapisi.net, addic7ed.com, subdl.com). Any file you take from there comes under that site's terms, and its accuracy and rights status are not ours to vouch for.
  • Lyrics lookup — lyrics are fetched from the community database lrclib.net, which we neither operate nor control.
  • Casting to your TV — your television, media box or receiver has its own software and terms, and how it handles the file you send it is its manufacturer's business.
  • Google Play — installing, updating and reviewing the app, and the icons of other apps shown in the app's menu, are Google's services, under Google's terms.
9

Availability and Changes to the App

Odo Player is provided as-is and as-available. We may update it to add, change or remove features, to support newer versions of Android, or to fix a problem. Since the app runs entirely on your device with no account, an update is never required to keep using a version you already have — and nothing you have stored is held hostage by a decision to stop developing it.

We do not guarantee that any particular file format, codec, subtitle format, DLNA device or network stream will work on every device. Media support depends on your hardware and on Android's own decoders, and cast compatibility depends on the device on the other end.

10

Disclaimers

Odo Player is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a file will play or a cast will connect, that a trim or export will produce a file you are satisfied with, or that data on your device will never be lost through normal device failure, storage corruption or a mistake in use. You use the app at your own risk, and you are responsible for keeping backups of your media.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that the law where you live does not allow to be excluded — including your statutory consumer rights.

11

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, media, files, profit, goodwill or device use, arising out of or relating to your use of the app — whether the claim is based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or anything else, and even if we were told such damage was possible.

Because Odo Player is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. Where that is the case, the limits above apply only to the extent the law permits, and nothing here removes a right you have that cannot legally be waived.

12

Termination

You can end these Terms at any time by uninstalling Odo Player. Uninstalling removes the app and its private storage from your device; your own media, subtitles and saved screenshots are untouched.

We may end the licence granted in section 3 if you materially breach these Terms — the most likely case being redistribution or repackaging of the app. Sections 4, 6, 10, 11 and 14 survive termination, because they describe responsibilities that do not end when the app leaves your device.

13

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as the app changes. The current version always lives on this page, with the date at the top of it. A change that materially affects your rights will be reflected here before the version it applies to is released, and continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not, uninstalling is the whole of the remedy.

14

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
