Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using OdoGrid ("Application"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download, install, or use the Application.

These Terms apply to all users of the Application and constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the OdoGrid developer ("we", "us", "our"). Use of the Application also constitutes acceptance of our Privacy Policy.

OdoGrid is a comprehensive, offline-first vehicle management application for Android. It helps users track and maintain their vehicles with the following core capabilities:

• Fuel and charging logs with efficiency calculations (MPG, L/100 km, km/L, kWh/km)
• Maintenance records and smart date / odometer-based reminders
• Expense tracking with category breakdown and cost-per-km insights
• Business and personal trip logs for tax mileage deduction reports
• AI receipt scanning (OCR) via on-device Google ML Kit
• Multi-format export — PDF, Excel, JSON
• Encrypted local storage with optional Google Drive and Dropbox cloud backup
• Support for multiple vehicle types including petrol, diesel, hybrid, EV, motorcycle, truck, and more

Some features are gated behind a short rewarded ad or a one-time in-app purchase. All core logging and tracking features are available at no cost.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Application. By using OdoGrid, you represent and warrant that you meet this minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Application.

OdoGrid does not require account registration. All data is stored locally on your device, so there is no centralised account that can be suspended or deactivated by us.

All vehicle records, fuel logs, maintenance entries, trip data, and expenses you enter into OdoGrid are stored exclusively on your device inside an AES-256 hardware-backed encrypted database. You retain full ownership of your data at all times.

We do not collect, access, or transmit your vehicle data to any server we operate. Optional cloud backup sends your encrypted database directly to your own Google Drive or Dropbox account — we have no access to those files.

You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data you enter and for maintaining your own backups. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, app uninstallation, or user error.

You agree not to use the Application to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Application
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Application
• Use automated means to access or interact with the Application in a manner not intended by its design
• Transmit any data that is unlawful, offensive, or harmful to third parties
• Attempt to exploit or abuse any in-app purchase, rewarded ad, or premium entitlement mechanism

The Application, including its source code, visual interfaces, graphics, design, feature set, and all other elements, is owned by and proprietary to the OdoGrid developer. All rights are reserved.

The OdoGrid name, logo, and brand assets may not be reproduced, distributed, or used in any derivative work without prior written permission.

Third-party brand assets (Google Drive logo, Dropbox logo, Google Play badge, etc.) remain the intellectual property of their respective owners and are used within the Application under the terms of their respective brand guidelines.

OdoGrid offers the following paid entitlements via Google Play Billing:

• Remove Ads — a one-time purchase that permanently removes all banner, rewarded, and interstitial advertisements from the Application.
• OdoGrid Premium — optional subscription plans (monthly / annual / lifetime) that unlock additional premium features as described in the Application.

All purchases are processed and managed by Google Play. By making a purchase, you agree to Google Play's Terms of Service.

Subscription renewals are charged automatically 24 hours before the end of the current billing period unless cancelled beforehand. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time from your Google Play account settings. We do not offer refunds outside of Google Play's standard refund policy.

The free tier of OdoGrid displays ads via Google AdMob on Android. Three ad formats are used: banner ads on list pages, rewarded ads gating premium export and AI analysis features, and frequency-capped interstitial ads (at most once every three saves). If a rewarded ad fails to load, the requested premium action proceeds immediately as a fallback — you are never permanently blocked from a feature.

On first launch you are presented with a GDPR-compliant consent dialog. You may decline personalised ads; the Application remains fully functional with non-personalised ads instead. You can change your consent choice at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data → Ad Preferences.

Purchasing the Remove Ads entitlement permanently disables all advertising within the Application.

OdoGrid integrates with third-party services to deliver certain features. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies:

• Google LLC — AdMob advertising, Google Drive backup, ML Kit OCR, Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics, Google Play Billing
• Dropbox, Inc. — Optional encrypted cloud backup
• NHTSA VPIC API — VIN decoding (no personal data is sent; only the VIN string you choose to look up)

We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or practices of any third-party service. Discontinuation of a third-party service may affect related features in OdoGrid without notice.

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

OdoGrid is a vehicle logging and tracking tool. It is not a substitute for professional mechanical, financial, legal, or tax advice. Fuel efficiency calculations, cost estimates, and tax report figures are for informational purposes only. Always verify important figures independently before relying on them for financial or legal decisions.

We do not guarantee that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your data.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Application shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it from your device. As OdoGrid does not require an account, there is no deregistration step required.

We reserve the right to discontinue the Application or any of its features at any time without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of any significant changes or discontinuation via the Google Play store listing.

Upon uninstalling the Application, all locally stored data is removed by Android's standard app uninstall process. Any backups stored in Google Drive or Dropbox remain in your personal cloud storage under your own control.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via an in-app notice or Play Store update description.

Your continued use of the Application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please uninstall the Application.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
